Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos (NUOL)
Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos (FE/NUOL), since its foundation in 1996, has become the most important educational and research centre in Laos, in particular in energy related fields. NUOL conducted many researches in EE field, for example, electricity consumption in public building, household electricity consumption, and EE & Conservation policy and strategy of Laos PDR.

Dr.Khamphone Nanthavong currently is a professor at Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos, with more than 18 years experiences in Renewable energy, renewables’ based rural electrification, energy planning and policy. He was in charge of formulation of Renewable energy Development strategy (approved), Energy efficiency and energy conservation Strategy (under drafting) for Lao PDR. He got his PhD in Renewable Energy Conversion Technology at Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Russian Federation) in 1994. He is an investigator and NUOL team leader for MECON project.
Mr.Sengratry Kythavone is associate professor at Faculty of Engineering (NUOL). He got his MSc in Energy technology and Power Plant Engineering (1988) at Zhdanov Institute of Metallurgy (Ukraine) and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Chiang Mai University (Thailand) in 1996. His fields of expertise include Biomass Gasification technology, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, and Heat Pump Technology Applications. Mr.Sengratry joined MECON project as a core researcher, in charge of energy efficient technology surveys.
Dr.Kinnaleth Vongchanh is a researcher of Effective Energy Efficiency Policy Implementation Targeting “New Modern Energy Consumer”, MECON project. She graduated Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Laos, Laos, 2004. She obtained her Master of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Technology of Bandung, Indonesia, 2006. Her Doctor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering is from Institute of Technology of Bandung, Indonesia, 2010.
Currently, she is a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos. Her current research is about drying of grand and converting waste to energy.
