Effective energy efficiency policy implementation targetion "New Modern Energy CONsumers" in the Greater Mekong Subregion

Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE)

Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) – Firmly rooted in Thailand’s energy research domain under King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, JGSEE works closely with industry and government and has ample research experience on energy policy in the region. The JGSEE developed Thailand’s Energy Efficiency Development Plan (2011-2030) and developed an energy efficiency R&D master plan for industry, building and transport sectors.

List of colleagues:

Dr.MilouDr.Milou Beerepoot is director of the “Thai-German Programme on Energy Efficiency Development Plan” at GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and a part-time visiting professor in the Joint Graduate School on Energy and Environment/KMUTT. In the JGSEE, Milouaims to expand international research on energy policy with a focus on the greater Mekong region. She therefore initiated and developed the MECON project early 2013 and is now supervising the implementation of the project.
Before coming to Bangkok in August 2012, MsBeerepoot was a senior analyst in the Renewable Energy Division of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, where she was project manager of the IEA’s Geothermal Energy Roadmap and the Solar Heating and Cooling Roadmap. Before joining the IEA, Ms.Beerepoot worked in consultancies as well as at Delft University of Technology (NL), where she received a PhD in innovation systems in relation to encouraging a transition towards a low-carbon building sector. During her time at Delft University, she conducted several research projects in EU programs and was initiator and coordinator of the Altener FP6 project Build-On-RES.

Dr.Atit TippichaiDr.Atit Tippichai received his PhD degree in Transportation Engineering and Socio-Technology from Nihon University, Japan in 2010. He has been working since then as a postdoctoral research fellow at JGSEE. At present, he is a researcher under the Energy and Environmental Policy Laboratory (EEPL). His main research interests are Climate Mitigation Options in Developing Countries, GHG Reduction Potentials and Costs by Bottom-up and Top-down Approaches, Energy efficiency and CO Reductions in the Transport Sector, and Land Use-Transport Energy-Air Pollution-Climate Modeling.

Mr.Pan PiyasilMr.Pan Piyasil is the project coordinator of Effective energy efficiency policy implementation targeting “New Modern Energy Consumer” in the Greater Mekong Subregion, or MECON project. He graduated Bachelor of Art in Economics from Thammasat University, Thailand (2006) and Master of Science in Sustainable Development from Uppsala University, Sweden (2012). His main interests are in rural development, cost-benefit analysis, agricultural and environmental economics, renewable energy and energy efficiency. His master thesis focuses on risk and profitability in photovoltaic technology in Thailand.

Miss Jirapa KamsamrongMiss Jirapa Kamsamrong is currently an assistant researcher of Effective energy efficiency policy implementation targeting “New Modern Energy Consumer” in the Greater Mekong Subregion, or MECON project. She also serves as a researcher position at Energy Security and Policy Research Group (ESPR), the Join Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE). Her background is power electrical engineering. Jirapa has a Master of Science degree in energy technology from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand. She is one of the researchers for Thailand Energy Efficiency Development Plan. Her professional academic researches include energy security, energy modeling, renewable energy, clean coal technology, energy efficiency and ASEAN and BIMSTEC energy cooperation.
